The American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) is the nation’s only membership organization dedicated to meeting the needs of human resources professionals in healthcare. The Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA) was founded in 1995 and has grown to represent over 1,500 member companies, and expanded its scope. The International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) advances public safety for educational institutions by providing educational resources, advocacy, and professional development services. IACLEA is the leading voice for the campus public safety community. IACLEA was created by 11 college and university security directors who met in November 1958 at Arizona State University to discuss job challenges and mutual problems, and to create a clearinghouse for information and issues shared by campus public safety directors across the country. The Society for Human Resource Management — Long Island Chapter Inc. is the local chapter of the national organization for human resource professionals that represents a global membership of more than 285,000. SHRM has members in 165 countries including Canada, China, United Kingdom, Australia, Bermuda, Japan, Singapore, Trinidad, Bahamas, and Germany. SHRM-Long Island has more than 1,700 members and is composed of all levels of HR practitioners, representing the complete spectrum and breadth of every type of industry on Long Island that has an interest in acquiring knowledge of the most recent and innovative developments in the HR arena. The LIA brings Long Islanders together to make Long Island a better place — for all of us. The LIA starts with small businesses, as small businesses are the bedrock of Long Island's economy. - As Long Island's Chamber of Commerce, provides valuable services and programs/representation to its membership organizations, particularly the small-business community
The National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) exists to advance excellence in the screening profession. The NAPBS is a network consisting of more than 300 members, all of whom are in one way or another connected to the background screening industry. The prescient founders of NCISS (see the council’s history) saw the need for security and investigation businesses to keep Congress and the Administration informed of their interests. They saw that without representation, our government would at the minimum overlook us, or legislate against us without consideration of the consequences.
The labor intensive nature of security operations put NCISS member’s interests squarely under the purview of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). And even more so today. It is the Council’s job to keep our legislators aware of the interests of the hundreds of thousands of professional security officers and the businesses which employ them. http://www.nciss.org
The Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) was created in 1985 under the Federal Advisory Committee Act to promote security cooperation between American private sector interests worldwide and the U.S. Department of State.
The OSAC is comprised of 34 private and public sector member organizations that represent specific industries or agencies operating abroad. The member organizations designate representatives to serve on the OSAC to provide direction and guidance to develop programs that most benefit the U.S. private sector overseas. https://www.osac.gov
