Legal Compliance with Cisive
Best Practice Standards Ensure We - and Our Clients - Are in Compliance
Cisive works with industry-leading organizations including the PBSA (Professional Background Screening Association), as well as employee advocacy organizations like the Legal Action Center, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the National Workrights Institute to develop best practices.
FCRA
We ensure accuracy and FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) compliance through primary source verification and perfecting of criminal records. Our background screening philosophy is always to minimize exposure from disparate impact while reducing negligent hiring risk.
GDPR
Cisive is fully compliant with GDPR and other data privacy and protection legislation. In 2017 we formed an internal taskforce and engaged the services of a top-tier London based law firm to review all our processes and procedures to ensure we were both ready for GDPR and to provide advice and general guidance to our clients. In 2017 we also appointed a data protection officer and prior to GDPR becoming law, we performed data protection impact assessments and ensured all our consent forms and contractual language reflected the GDPR requirements. We continuously monitor both domestic and international legal developments with regard to data protection and privacy and regularly implement changes to ensure we protect client and applicant data to levels above those required in all the regions in which we operate.
Cisive is uniquely placed to protect data and add value to our clients. For many years we have been the only enterprise in our industry to indemnify our clients. Now, because of the advantages our technology platform provides and the confidence we have in our GDPR program, Cisive has further distanced itself from its competitors: we will stand with our clients and assume all data controller liabilities in relation our screening services.
Cisive’s dynamic service model responds directly to client's evolving operational needs with a goal of increasing efficiency and minimizing costs. Note Germany, UK, and Spain have enacted the GDPR.
